Day 1

So today is the first day of my new life...Friday I was laid off :( but all is good! I am looking at this as my time to shine! As most know I am a craftaholic, and this is the perfect opportunity to move forward!  I was blessed to have a wonderful boss and job but unfortunately this economy is not a friendly to small companies. I wish them the best of luck & have no hard feelings, I love them & they will always hold a place in my heart. And luckily my boss was a friend of mine prior to me working for her & is still my friend now so I will still see/hang with her! I have many plans for this new adventure...starting with being consistent on updating my blog! Ha! I have been really bad but now I have time! Whoop whoop! See positive outlook! :)

my blogging hiatus...and a new start...

I've been on a slightly looooong blogging hiatus....we've had spring baseball, the school year finally ended and then tball season! But now it is time for a break!!! I've been trying to decide what this blog should be about...I love telling everyone about my wonderful boys & amazing hubby but I think I need to talk about something else than just them!  I don't want to write about my adventure in hairbow & tutu making because I spend all of my "spare" time doing that and this is blog is my get away from everything!  SO what to blog about...that IS the question! (but if you know me, you know that it will all go back to my hubby & boys! I love them too much not too!)

This is how I am going to start it off... I was searching blogs looking for chore charts for my boys and found a blog for mommies...www.5minutesforfaith.com What a great find!  And here is the 1st thing I stumbled upon...PERFECT!!!  The Power of Prayer!  And the Five Finger Prayer...I have often thought about how I do not pray enough nor do I help my boys to pray enough!  It started with James 5:13-18...The Prayer of Faith...I know I need it & I need GOD!

James 5:13-18
13Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

17Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

Five Finger Prayer

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember.

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God’s guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them. (Taken from sermonideas.net)

5. And lastly is our little finger – the smallest finger of all, which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, “The least shall be the greatest among you.” Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

The 1st thing I will do in the morning as I get ready to go to work is go over my new Five Finger Prayer (I am going to print out the steps right now & tape them to my mirror so I can look at it while I get dressed)...of course I would LOVE to sit down with my boys in the morning and talk to them about their Five Finger Prayers but I do not have the time (unless I get up at 3 in the morning...lol! not going to happen!) so  when we get home, while they sit in the kitchen and I get dinner ready, I will talk to them about theirs! I hope that I can learn to pray & teach my family to pray!  It is time to make time to talk to GOD...we take time for everything else but forget about HE who gave us everything!

GOD Bless!

Has it really been this long?!?!

Ok...I knew it has been a while since I have posted anything on my blog but I did NOT think it had been over a month!   But of course I can't update everything right now because I am so tired!  The reason I am so tired is because it is Spring Baseball...man, does it take a lot of time away from the week but I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING! I absolutely LOVE watching Will play....Ok, time for bed, nite nite!
